.Kuti's Royal Thai Pier Reviews

::
We had previously enjoyed Kuti's Indian establishment in Oxford Street and wanted to try the Thai option in the historic old Royal Pier building.
The reception / bar area is nicely decorated. The turbaned door man gives a good first impression and the other staffs were welcoming. The food was excellent both in quality and variety.

:: I've been to Kuti's Royal Thai Pier twice now, once in the evening with friends and again with my husband for lunch. On both occasions I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the quality of the food on the first visit giving me the confidence to try something I'd never had before on the second! It also happens to be a lovely building and the way it has been decorated is lovely. The staffs are friendly and welcoming without being intrusive and the pace of service was just right. I would definitely recommend it./p>

:: The four of us arrived at 7:45pm for a 8.00pm booking and were shown to our table before 8.00pm.
We went for the a-la-carte menu (there was a greater choice for me, a non meat-eater), and were surprised at the extensive range available. The a-la-carte was served in the upstairs dining room & the buffet was in the downstairs dining room.
We had a starter and a main course and rice each with three side dishes to share. We would have liked to have had a dessert as well, but we were all well sated, so just had a coffee each. The quality of the food was excellent and aesthetically served. Excluding drinks, the meal came to less than £30 a head - value for money for the quality.
The service was excellent; the staffs were very friendly and efficient - attentive without being intrusive. We stayed for three hours, and didn't feel at all rushed.
All in all, an experience both our two friends and ourselves would repeat again. (Southampton, 19 March 2010 - Southampton residents)

:: The Sunday lunch buffet was tasty, well presented and there's lots of it. A real snip at £10. I've read mixed reviews about this place, but I'm glad I took a chance a booked. Maybe the management have finally got their act together, I don't know, certainly everyone in our group of 18 had nothing but good things to say about our first visit to Royal Thai. I was especially impressed by the choice on offer; I counted at least 4 starters, soup, five main course (including vegetarian) and a simple fruit selection to round off the meal. For me it was the red Thai red that stood out, it had well balanced flavours and a nice bite from the chillies.
The tasteful redesign of this favourite old building as well as the polite, attentive staff made for a great dining experince.

:: Great food and service and well worth the premium prices

:: I have been to Kuti's Thai five times in the last few months on different nights out. I have had the buffet three times and eaten off the menu twice. The menu is lovely and the quality of the food is excellent. The sharing starter is wonderful and good value and the main courses are fab - my favourite is the yellow Thai curry with potato and cripsy onions - it is easily my favourite curry dish I have eaten out (and I have been to India four times).

What Kuti's have done to the old Pier buidling is beautiful and I can only speak positively of the staff, who have always been polite and friendly.

My family and I will definitely continue to visit the Pier!

:: I went there with my friends on the 6th September 2008, and although we had to wait 15 minutes for our table the service was outstanding. They seated us upstairs near the windows so we had the lovely view of the outside. We had the choice of A La Carte and Buffet, but of course we chose the A La Carte and one of the waiters even helped choose the best dishes and they were all delicious. We were given our drinks quite fast and we didn't even have to wait for our food for very long, the service for that was remarkable. After our meal we had the honour of meeting Mr Kuti Miah himself and we was the most poliet and caring man! He took his time to talk to us and tell us the story on how the restaurant plan came about and offered us lovely beverages. Our bill was just as we expected and wasn't any penny more. We left a tip of course because we were very impressed by the service. I will definietly recommend Kuti's Royal Thair Pier to friends and family.

:: Pros: Lovely food and a fantastic selection on the buffet. Staff were very professional and polished. The building was most impressive and has been sympathetically renovated to a grand auditorium and had a lovely atmosphere. The location is perfect and convienient and we wolud have no hesitation to return for another gastronomic delight. Well Done!!

:: Pros: We have just eaten here for the first time tonight, and it was fantastic! The buildiing has been sympathetically renovated into a fantastic setting for this restaurant, with a lovely view over southampton Water.

The food was amazingly fresh, beautifully presented, arrived quickly, and above all tasted fantastic. Service was prompt and extremely polite, there is a buffet and party area downstairs with the A la Carte being upstairs.

The attention to detail is great, all the crockery has the Kuti's logo on as well as the table linen and the bespoke carpet. The best little touch was receiving a flower on leaving, loved it.
